I think I'll be getting my Party Animal title sooner that I expected!
Yay!

Rewards for other Wintersday stuff look completely terrible compared to this. Just look at Snowball fights still rewarding only 3 shards per win or look at how miserable are the rewards for the new battles of the 4 gods, what a joke Anet.
Rewards creep is not good for anything, it's just filling our inventories with tons and tons of near worthless crap.

I guess Wintersday is to Party Animal / Sweet Tooth / Drunkard (primarily party animal though) what Shing Jea Boardwalk (CNY, b-day, DF) is to Lucky / Unlucky.

Hm... you have a point.
I still wonder why keeping the old LA ones with the offhand items, when you could just have Candysmith Marley make one for you...

What's the big deal? 250 ToT bags from the main holiday quest chains set a precedent that they don't want this to be "farm Wars" where you bash the crap out of raptors or what have you instead of doing the event stuff.
And the Dwayna vs Grenth snowball fights are the only way to get Gamer points during the event anyway.

but but ... this is awesome!
All those complainers are like those old fogies who reminiscent of a time when politicians were noble, things were cheaper and children respected their elders. Oh, and there weren't any computers and families watched TV together.
What's wrong with moving with the times?

well it will definitely allow ppl to get their party/booze/sweet titles done but i think they need to introduce more holiday prizes that we can get from the wintersday gifts

Seriously A.net. I really love playing snowball arena though (and I'd like the next gamer rank). But when you just make this that profitable... how can I do anything else?

No-one is even going to look at the new repeatable quest with this thing around. Which is a shame as it's much more involved. Giving 10 gifts away for this is just silly.

That's how it was for first wintersday, the presents were in inventory, not on the ground. Could just afk in town before.

Loose magic, which was not around this time last year allows you to spam tonics without have to change dis. locations, logout, ect. Thus making it an even better farming spot for your party title.

Doesn't do jack for Frosty or any other outpost-only tonics.

It may seem unfair to some that points are easy now and Wintersday Gift value will drop. But, I'm not hating because all I farm turns to profit. And I can sell them to people that need those titles for a good price. Win-Win scenerio.

I wasn't talking about the final event.
I guessed because farming that quest is that easy, and gives you 10 gifts in ~3 min, Anet could do away with the need to farm altogether and give us free gifts for just standing AFK somewhere for the entirety of the event for next year.

Yes, but 99.9% of tonics you get from Wintersday are Frosty tonics...

I think the small secondary patch caused the mobs to spread out a lot immediately after they become hostile. I mgiht be wrong but I don't recall them doing that last night.

Farm Wars. This is exactly it. A great event turning into degenerate overfarm of just one simple quest.
Increasing some rewards which were poor is a good move but THIS was already the single most consistently profitable thing per hour to do during Wintersday 2009 and was extremelly overfarmed and DID NOT need any kind of buff.
At this rate the consumable titles (drunk/sweet/party) should have 3rd rank to max, at 100,000 points or at least 50,000, only then the insane rates at which stuff gets produced would be reasonable.
Another thing is proper BALANCING of rewards, if you want to give out thousands of presents at least spread them properely through the content and make the most challenging bits the most rewarding.

Agreed, this just doesn't make any sense to have such awards for such a simple task. Fastest snowball farm with 2 people is what, 1 minute?

They've always done that.
You or your team mate has to run up and aggro them and then run back. Been that way for as long as it's been available

Oh BS. People already farmed this event like crazy; now, a single player might actually have the time to farm their way to the max title in a single Wintersday. That's reducing grind. Yes, it also decreases the money everyone can make from selling gifts, but that's not the grind you were complaining about, was it?
Oh wait...

Yeah, you complain about the game being "Farm Wars" and then you say something stupid like this. WTF?
